Arcade Monitors and Console Emus

How do console emulators (Nesticle, ZSNES, etc) look on Arcade Monitors? How about on VGA-Arcade hybrids? I've read that some people go with TVs because the console emus don't work (or don't work well) on Arcade Monitors.
