I had a Star Wars flight yoke on my first project, It is not hard to make it compatable for a PC. You are correct about the potentiometers but the ones in the controls straight out of the cabinet will not work. Pots that will work can be bought at Radio shack for about 2.00 dollars each.
Look on the controls page under yokes and go to Judes site. He is the person from whom I got the info on doing this.
