: I built a cab and had everything working pretty much perfectly, but something strange happened the other day. For some reason my computer (yes it sits outside the cab currently until I can scrape enough coin to buy a new one and build this one into the cab) is now recognizing my joystick inputs as the directionals on the number pad instead of the arrow keys. It did not do this before, I don't know if I did something when I was powering it up or what, I don't think so though. Games are still playable with it like this, the only problem is that when you start a rom for the first time you can't hit left and right to get past the OK screen. Is this something completely simple that I'm missing or what, any help is greatly appreciated.

: Thanks

Maybe a wild guess, but did you somehow manage to turn on or off the NumLock key. A lot of machines start up with numlock turned on by the BIOS, but you can turn this off. Myabe you originally had NumLock turned off so the num pad acted as arrows, and now it is turned on so you get the numbers.

Like I said, just a guess.
