I am just wondering where this will all be in 10 years or so.
I can just imagine people trying to build their own "Top Skater" controls etc!!
It seems that most of the arcade games coming out now are either Street Fighter2 type fighters, gun games, and driving games. Maybe I am wrong but I also seem to see more of a move towards dedicated cabinets again, (Except for the fighters), as most of the games coming out now seem to have weird controls.
On my last trip to an arcade I remember seeing
Pod Racer, (Dedicated)
Top Skater, (Definately dedicated).
Some Scooter game with scooter controls, (Pretty sure that was dedicated).
Some sit down Jurassic Park shooter, (Dedicated)
That sit in Star Wars game that came out recently
and Finally Ms Pacman, (Dedicated original).
I guess I should build up my collection now, because I can never see myself affording whatever these new oversized dedicated games will bring at auction in 10 years.
