Your Gauntlet 2 Machine was probably originally a Gauntlet anyway, (almost all of them were converted from original Gauntlets.
Most Mortal Kombats were conversions also.
Either way Mortal Kombat is extremely common.
If you are concerned just keep all of the original parts and don't hack up the Gauntlet 2 control panel. (Replace it).
My Pacman cabinet has gone through 4 conversions that I know of. (And God knows how many that I don't know about).
