Hi All,

This is Andy from Arcade Solutions. Although I have built many panels for people in the past, I dont have anything at the moment for myself. I do have a few original arcade cabs left but have sold most of them and even sold the custom cabs I have built for myself. So now it is time to build what will be the ultimate setup (for me anyway). It will be in the planning stages till probably around summer when I will have time to start building it.

Anyway, here is what I plan on doing.....since this will be a permanent part of the house as you will see I only want to have to this once and do not want to overlook anything. So I will tell my plans and ask for your opinions and suggestions so that I can make this the perfect (for me, that is) project.

Here it goes.....

Right now I have a spare bedroom where I have my computer desk. This is where I want to build my project. There is a closet wide enough to house 3 25" monitors. Along with this area I will probably also have another cab on the other side of the room.

In the closet the 2 monitors on the left and on the right I want to have as dedicated vertical and horizontal monitors. These, however, will not be used for MAME or any other emulators but for 'real' arcade games in a setup like this one I built a few years back.

I will probably have 4 or more arcade pcb's wired to each monitor that can be selected from via switch on the front of the control panel.

Some of the game canditates include:

Horizontal Vertical
Crazy Climber Galaga
Wizard Of Wor Satans Hollow
Moon Patrol Pac-Man

Now for the monitor in the middle I am not quite sure what I want to do with it yet.

Here are some of the other things I want to be able to do.

*MAME emulation
*Commodore 64 emulation or a real unit
*Bally Astrocade emulation or a real unit
*MP3 Jukebox
*Regular computer game play with the arcade controls
*Television/DVD player

The question about the middle monitor is should it be an arcade monitor, computer monitor or television.

If I use a TV I can use a real C-64, Bally Astrocade and also use it as a TV.

If I use a real Bally Astrocade I want to built a circuit board to house all of the roms (about 35) that will allow me to change games via switch like the arcade montiors. (This will be a project among itself but will be really cool if I do it :-)

I still have a cab I built a little while ago that looks just like a MK2 cab. It is not completely done but very close. I can also use the for the MAME, C-64 and Bally emulators and also to play regular computer games. And also for my MP3 jukebox.....but as far as the MP3 is concerned what I would really like to do is (although I dont know if any software exists for it)

I would like to have a dedicated computer for the MP3 jukebox. I have a set of Cerwin Vegas with 15" woofers and a receiver that I would like to use for the sound but as far as the monitor is concerned I would like to be able to use a touchscreen monitor. Does anyone know if there is any jukebox software that would support something like this???

Man....this is starting to be a really long post....I think that might be everything......I tried to wip up a quick summary page here.......

Please, if you have any suggestion/comments or opinions let me know. I want to make the one awesome project!

Thanks,
Andy
