There was a thread about this sometime back that I saved. I have an SBlive and also wanted it to work in DOS. You'll need to download the latest Liveware from the soundblaster.com site and modify as follows:

"When you download Liveware...DON'T RUN SETUP!
Instead run each of the red package icons individually...then go look in your temp folder. Somewhere you should find a folder called LW3 or similar. Inside it should me a directory structure similar to that found on your original CD. Find the Setup folder a couple levels down and you should have your audio.ini file in there. Edit the .ini file in the Setup folder:
You will see lines refering to each component and a 1 or a 0 telling setup whether it should be installed or not. Find the line referring to the Dos drivers and change the 0 to 1. After modifying it, run the setup.exe IN THIS FOLDER, not the original one.

Apparently they have been there all along, but they do not install automatically"

      - I think your best bet is to just get a cheap-o ensoniq soundcard for your mame cab. I have a SB live and finally decided it wasnt worth the hassle. Plus, the SB Live card has this weird echo when you use it with mame anyway. Jeremy Cline 2/05/2001 (1)
