I wanted to construct the panel so that I could play most of the games standing right in front, in the middle, of the cabinet.
Tempest (and Tacscan) was very importent to me therefore the spinner had to be placed on a perfect spot.
I also wanted two sticks for Robotron, a trackball for centipede and a good way to play lrtf games like asteroids. I choose to put the trackball to the right although I am left handed but i am used to play it that way. This way I could place the button in the middle and to the left of the left joystick which gave me a good feel for Asteroids as well.
It also works very well for joystick games like gyruss whick I mostly play with the right stick and the buttons directly to the left from the stick.
Peter
