I just don't have tons of money to sink into this hobby. I only make about $18,000 a year. (I could probably make 3 times that if I actually applied for some tech jobs, but that is a whole other story).
I do however have plenty of time for projects like this. My current job gives me tons of spare time. I work from 11PM until 7AM at a hotel as an auditor. But I am always done with my job by 11:30 which gives me 7 and a half hours to do basically whatever I want as long as I can still manage to answer the phone. So I do all my laundry here. Sleep. Download Roms on the T-1 we have here. Use the hottub, etc etc etc.
One time I spent at least 38 hours out of my 42 hour week playing Princess Maker 2 (Excellent Abandonware game, check it out) because I was trying to get all of the endings.
Anyway that went way off track.
Basically I have plenty of time to build 2 of these, but I just don't have the cash.
Oh yeah I like the controller idea, just like a Nes Advantage, (I think that was what the big joystick was called).
