Normally the slot won't be perfectly centered (it should be awefully darn close though) after you cut it. You can then flip the panel over and cut the groove again. The will make the groove perfectly centered.

: : : : : What you do is router a grove in any of the exposed edges on your cabinet and then press the T-molding into the grove. It thereby finishes off the edge so it looks profesional.

: : : : How do you router a perfect groove like that, in a straight line along the whole height of a (multi-angled) cab panel? I don't remember reading specific details on how this feat is performed. :-)

: : : Have you ever used a router?......if you havent the base (the part that is placed flat against the wood is about 6-8 inches in diameter. The bit you use (a 16" slotting cutter)looks like a little fan with 3 blades and sticks out of the bottom. You set the length that it sticks out which will be half of the thickness of the wood. When cutting a slot in the side of the wood the router is actually placed on the side of the board and the blade cuts into side at a 90 degree angle. All you need is a steady hand and to take you time and go slow and you will cut a perfect groove every time..........
: : : man, I hope that was written clearly enough to understand :-)

: : It took me a while to figure it out, but I think I got it! My incorrect understanding was that you had to FREEHAND the router directly into the edge! But I see through your explanation that you sit the router vertically, right on the panel (which is lying on its side), and let the blade cut horizontally into the edge of the panel.

: : Now then, what's the link to your page?

: You can see it @:

: Oh....and my mistake, above that is supposed to be a 1/16" slotting cutter!
