An analogue joystick has two axies: x and y. Positional guns have a third axis, which allows them to turn, twist, rotate or whatever. Picture the gun mounted on top. if something travels from left to right on the screen that you want to shoot you simply twist the gun to aim at it. Analogue sticks do not twist!!!!!

: What you are referring to as "turning" of the T2 gun is just the right/left axis of movement. The gun also moves up/down. So it really is just a two axis analog stick with a shakin' gun on top of it...
