If you look down a bit you'll see a problem i had a day or two ago with my Hotrod. Seems Player 1 would not go down at all.

I believe Tim suggested a bunch of things and this is what happened...

I opened up the sucker and crimped the wire a bit...nothing. Then I found out if I put "slight" pressure in "just" such a way to one of the microswitches prongs the "down" function would work just fine...to bad there was no way to keep it in this position.

I even switched wires with another microswitch and made sure that the problem definitely was with the microswitch and not the PCB.

Then I saw the little upraised black plastic piece the microswitch is supposed to be flush with...seems like a guide to the installers so you know where the microswitch goes. Well there was a tiny gap between the plastic guide & the "down" microswitch....EVERY other microswitch in the Hotrod WAS flush. Sounds stupid as being a reason for it not working, but i figured what the hell.

I unscrewed the microswitch, placed it back on the joystick and forced it flush while at the same time screwing it back in place. It's more flush now, but not perfect. I made sure it was good and tight and closed up the Hotrod.

I figured it wouldn't make a difference, but noooo the thing works flawlessly now!! I was playing games for the next hour and not a SINGLE glitch when going down. I even yanked hard on it a bunch of times...went easy on it...every possible way to pull that joystick down, i did it...and nothing. Not a single hiccup!

I'm not sure if this is going to be a temporary solution or what, but i'm happy now in knowing that if it breaks again it's definitely the microswitch, which i assume can be bought by itself without having to shell out for the joystick??
