Max Resolution = 320 x 240 on a standard monitor (hantarex mtc 9000)

Hello,
as i´ve done my monitor/vga-connection like it is mentioned on the pc2jamma page, i can start mame.
am i fixed to a resolution of 320x240, or is it possible to change resolution to something above, like 640 x 480?
The Monitor i have is a hantarex mtc 9000. Games like Donkey Kong work fine, but games like Discs of Tron are only half on the screen, because of 320x240.
Maybe someone out there is willing to help, even my english is very bad?
