This is the reason you should make a dual spinner running on ONE mouse connector. First of all, I'd like to not have to switch between my mouse and 2 spinners all the time. Second of all, most people prefer MAME32 to Dos MAME as far as convenience and interface.
: : By the latest MAME you mean the DOS version or MAME32 for Windows??
: : : I have two OSCAR spinners connected to my test machine, one on the PS/2 port and one on a serial port. Using the latest MAME (37b11) which has support for dual mice, I have both spinners working independently. For instance, I can play two player Blasteroids with this setup.
: : : If you are not running the latest MAME, I believe you can run OptiMAME and achieve the same results. I have not personally tried this method, yet though. You can download the MAME mouse drivers from the download page on http://www.mame.net.
: : : As far as two trackballs, and two OSCAR's, you should be able to use a mouse splitter (Y-mouse, for example) and have a trackball and spinner available for each player. Again, I have not tried this method, but in theory it should work.
: : : I'm sorry that I haven't been able to fully test the dual trackball/OSCAR setup yet, but seeing as dual mouse support is fairly recent in the offical MAME beta, I really haven't had a chance to fully explore the possibilities.
