: What's the use of a trackball in a control panel?
Many use it as a pointing device (mouse replacement) for their frontends and it also simulates the crosshairs on many gun games.

: Is there any games in the nineties that use it?
Rampart & Shuuz (both '90), golden tee (not emulated yet) - plus some of the best games ever were pre '90 and trackball (centipede, millipede, marble madness, missle command, crystal castles, and a number of golf, bowling, and old atari sport games)

: And is a rotary joystick, a 360 joystick and a optical joystick the same?
NO!

What are they for?
Rotary - spinning character or weapon (ikari warriors, victory road, midnight resistance, front line, etc.

360 - works like a spinner - 720'

optical - uses optical board instead of micro or leaf switches
