DOS MAME as an embedded system (read on)

I really love my MAME machine as soon as it is up and running. I hate waiting for BIOS and BOOT sequence to finish. I would like the same embedded system feeling of a real arcade machine... So do anyone on this board know anything about:

Possibility to run DOS MAME from an embedded DOS version like ROM DOS (http://www.datalight.com/rom-dos.htm)? I haven't tried the free bootable disk demo yet...

Any other prefered embedded DOS version for DOS MAME?

Required hardware to boot DOS from ROM, prefered motherboard, configuration etc?

Any other ideas on how to make a MAME cabinet boot faster and to minimize the PC look and feel (only pure DOS based systems)?
