: Well, what is being said is that ok sure they are emulating these games for us, but plenty of good ole games that are emulated need more work. they should probably focus on those before starting to emulate more. I know i can remove games i dont want..fine. but why are they wasting time on them to begin with while in the meantime some games that have been around for countless betas don't even work right yet?

Since I'm not part of the MAME dev team, I can't speak for them. That said, when someone is writing documentation they put down as much as they have and finalize it. One doesn't put off adding new material simply because the old material isn't finalized. Hence the beta releases. If enough information is discovered or made available to start emulating a particular chipset, it's added. Then as more specific information is found, it is added, making a particular portion of a particular game more stable, just as one cleans up documentation. It makes perfect sense to me. I also don't think that someone has the right to complain about how another group works unless they are part of that group. Basically, if you want the bugs worked out of the betas, do it. But until then, don't complain about such a great addition to the arcade community.
