I have to agree with Sasquatch. With UBB or the like you usually have to use a username and password but you can still remain anonymous. I like the idea of reading a message and knowing it came from the "real" user and not someone who just typed in someone else's username.

: I actually disagree. The other boards that I frequent (which are either UBB or vBulliten) do require you to register, and also require that you enter in your username and password every time that you post. BUT, since you can store all of that stuff via Cookies, it's actually quicker. My username, password, e-mail addy, and website URL are all filled in automatically. I actually find it much easier and quicker than this style of board (not that I'm complaining, mind you!).
