Controller finishing - to give it that arcade durable finish?

I've just about finalised my requirements for a controller. Thanks to those who have helped. As I
will be getting the credit card out next week !! and
placing my orders I wanted to ask a couple of questions regarding the covering or finishing of the controller.

I'd like to avoid painting and would prefer a more profesional finish. The Finishing pages of this site
do not offer any sugestions in this area (unless I'm lokking in the wrong place).

Can anyone offer any sugestions in covering the woodwork of a controller; to give it that arcade durable finish?
