: : Has anyone heard of a way to convert the plug on a standard 8 bit nintendo pad to work in a computer game port??

: I have a circuit in a magazine that shows how to convert the 7 pin 8bit NES controllers into either
: 1) 8 discreet output switches that can be used on a keyboard encoder directly or
: 2) An actual 15pin PC joystick input connector to simulate a digital gamepad on the gameport.

: I can either scan that in when I get my scanner back, or redraw it maybe on my own. I can probably build one too if it's what you'd be looking for. I have my old 8bit nes that I could test it with in an experimental version. My only wonder is how to actually plug the NES controller into anything - those are weird funky 7 pin plugs, maybe there's some prongs that can fit nicely into the holes and make contact...unless you can hack off the end of the cord and just wire it directly, but I wouldn't prefer that...I'd try to find something I can plug into the holes on the cable
and do it that way.

I have a diagram of the what each wire is in the plug if that will help the cutting and connecting process...If you could send me that diagram whenever that would be great...thanks!
