MacMame Vs Mame for PC (DOS/32)

I just saw a Macintosh the other day running MacMame. It looked great. It has some visual thing going on that makes the image looks like an arcade monitor (Not just scanlines). Is there a way to get mame or mame32 to look as good as the MacMame? After looking at it on a Macintosh I am thinking that a Mac might be a better choice for my projects brain. Any thoughts.
