I appreciate the posts from fultra and druin, and don't want to discount their opinions. But to ensure that you don't spend play time repairing wiring problems, I still suggest 18.

I currently have a mame cab w/ 4 swappable cp's and have never had a single prob w the 18 gauge wire - but on my original 2 cp's I used 24 gauge, and had trouble w/ the solder joints falling apart and wire breaking while moving the cp.

My new motto - Do it right the first time.
