: AdvanceMAME does not natively support software scanlines. If you use a real arcade monitor or tv, there's no need for them. But if you use a PC monitor... :)

: There's a wonderful trick for this situation, and not only does it give scanlines but they're double bright! Plus they cost no processing time! And it even makes scrolling smoother! Sounds good you say, but how?! How!?

: The key is to use doublescan - in mv.exe hit the "X" key and it'll double the scan rate. It will also give you awesome looking scanlines! :) You'll need a good PC display that can go up to 120Hz of course, but that's how to do it.

: : Thanks to Prophet I've managed to get Sinistar running under AdvanceMAME with working controls. -I also have a ton of work ahead of me since I'm thinking of reconfiguring my MAME-cabinet to run in pure DOS.

: : Before now, I've been happy running WIN98SE/MAME32 but since Sinistar works with AdvanceMAME, I can 'dial-in' the video modes better with AdvanceMAME, and Mike Cousins has figured out the mystery-bug with why ArcadeOS doesn't see all the ROMs...finally, pure DOS is a realistic option for me.

: : Anyway, the (hopefully) last problem for me to solve is the issue of horizontal scanlines while running AdvanceMAME. How in the heck to I enable them? I have them enabled ( as before ) with my frontend and MAME config but the games display without them. Is there some command under AdvanceMAME? Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
