It may be easier to get a 6v supply (AC brick or 4 - 1.5v cells, AAA to D depending on how often you want to replace them), and use a silicon diode or two to drop the voltage. Silicon Diodes have a voltage drop of .65~.7v, so one should give you ~5.3v, and 2 should be ~4.7v.

: I dont know what exactly mA's are but could you point me in the right direction on how to get this power? Another guy suggested that i get a battery holder and a voltage regulator and use batterys to power it. I went to radio shack and got some but I have no clue on how to use it. The voltage regulator is just a chip with pin outs? How would I go about making sure the output is 5v.?
