: : I solved most of the other problems myself, but can't get around this one.

: : P1s controls, 6 buttons:
: : ctrl alt space
: : lshift x z

: : P2s controls, 6 buttons:
: : a s q
: : w k i

: : As you can see, if I let the top row of buttons be those controls, alt + q are bound to buttons and can exit the emulator accidently. If I use the second row, lshift doesn't seem to work in Genecyst. It won't let me bind it in the GUI, and if I put in scancode 42 into the .ini file, it ignores it also.

: : I tried putting in scancode 49 (n) in the gen.ini file for that button, then using genecyst.app to remap 42 (lshift) to 49 (n), but nothing happens. Can anyone help? Worst case situation is player 1 has 1 button on the top row and 2 on the bottom, but that's a pretty ugly situation.

: Which emu are you running that uses ALT-Q to Exit? Can Exit be remapped to something besides ALT-Q and/or are all six buttons used in this emu? What encoder/hack are you using? Is it possible to assign the buttons to different keys? Maybe you could use a key remapper to change the keys that are sent for that EMU only?

What I did was change over to KGen98 for Sega games, which allows left shift to be used as a button, so I have that all working now.. The machine is using an IPAC device for the encoding.. though I still can't seem to remap keys (I need to remap something to enter to exit KGen).. I tried using the shift remapping in arcadeos, and tried messing with the kgen98.app file to remap one of the buttons to enter, but it doesn't seem to work. I must be missing a step somewhere there, as I've never got a remap like that to work yet.

Anyway, I just ordered a PS2 splitter so I can use both the keyboard and arcade machine at the same time, so it's not as much of an issue anymore.. keyboard will also be useful for updating the machine and the like anyway.. I'll probably end up re-wiring the keys to not use keys such as alt, q, shift, etc for controls as well.. (alt-q is used by both nesticle and genecyst to exit)..

Has anyone gotten Z26 working? Since it doesn't support key remapping, how do you go about it?
