You tried the player2-keys on the keyboard
itself ? If they work on the keyboard you might
indeed (re)check your wires.
Maybe your keyboard suffers from 'ghosting'. Although it's an old one, it still uses a matrix
(I guess). So havind the player1-controls good might just be luck...
