From your posting, it's hard to tell if your Super8 is sticking physically or electrically. It could be that your control interface isn't releasing an input for some reason. How did you interface your controls? If you used a keyboard hack, maybe you could help conclude the Great Diode Debate by adding some diodes and seeing if the problem ends.
