It's hard to say because PC lightguns aren't standard. The DOS compatible ones seem to emulate the mouse. The Act Labs ones have Windows drivers that may work with Mame32, and there's an unsupported legacy driver that is supposed to work with DOS, probably by emulating the mouse.
Another issue is (I believe) PC guns aren't compatible with TVs or Arcade Monitors. And console guns won't work on a VGA computer monitor, but you may be able to get a console gun working on a PC using a tv and TV-out and the parallel port.
If you set it up right, they'll probably work, but I don't know how good the performance is.
