DOS Mame and ArcadeOS (as far as I know) do not
output 24Khz for a medium res monitor, they can
only send out stardard res 15Khz. So if your
medium res monitor is like mine and many others
you should be able to (when the monitor is off)
change the monitor to stardard res by unpluging
a connector from high to low res on the PCB of
the monitor.
If you don't know which connector it is maybe
you can take a close up pic of the top of the
PCB and I can try and circle connetor on the pic and send it back to you.

What are you going to run on your arcade monitor?
Windows with Mame32 etc. or DOS Mame and ArcadeOS.

: I found a blade24 util which sends a 24khz at 1024x1028 in windows. This worked great!. Apparently I have a medium rez arcade monitor. how how do I get mame to send out a 24khz signal in mame or arcade os or anything?
: Thanks,

: : I don't have a game board to test it with, when I bought it the operator showed me it working and it was fine then. I know the video card works fine, since I tested it before I hooked into the cabinet. AThe picture is fairly stable on the screen, it could be a power supply problem. I'm not very experienced with hooking up monitors. I simply took the two VAC lines off the isolation transformer and hooked them into the wires on the monitor. Anything I can check on that?
: : Thanks for your help,

: : : Have you tried this monitor with a game board?
: : : Does it look the same as with the computer hooked
: : : up to it. In the pitures it looks like bars going
: : : across the screen if they are moving slowing it
: : : might be hum bars from the mains power. Possable
: : : power supply fault on the monitor?

: : : : I am using a Trident blade3d and an arcade monitor (no idea what brand). I have all the connections right (i even have separate vertical and horizontal sync lines) The problem is the horizontal is off badly. Its hard to explain but the horizontal scan lines do not match up. I have fiddled with the settings on the monitor and I cant fix it.
: : : : When using the blade15 util by saka to make the windows desktop output at 16khz the horizontal lines are only off a little. When using mame with the -monitor arcade setting the horizontal problem is even worse. I have posted some pictures to photopoint.com. If someone can look at these and tell me what they think it would be appreciated.
