Questions about Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, etc....

Two things:

1) I'm trying to play Duck Hunt and Hogan's Alley in MAME32 but can't sem to get my joy or mouse to work. Can you play these games without a gun?

2) About guns. Whats out there and do they work with MAME32?
