In Reply to: Happ's Super Joystick, how do you fix the diagnols? posted by misato-san on July 17, 1999 at 23:43:04:

: I have been to many states in a Ryu-like fashion honing my Soul Calibur skills, and almost all Soul Claibur machines have Happ's Super Joysticks (most Tekken's do too) and a common problem is that diagnol movements are not registered even close to consistently. On some cabinets they don't work at all. In any case, I was wondering how to fix this. I know the cause for it already (circular rubber contact rod ender, metal flanges, spongey cherry switches, blah blah), but I know many of you smarties have found ways to fix the problem, so I was just wondering how? Thank you for your help, it is appreciated.

If you look at the microswitches you will see that there is a metal lever on it, if you bend the end of this lever outward on all four of the switches it makes the diagonals more responsive more responsive

you don't want to bend them too much or they get so rresponsive you can't move anywhere EXCEPT diagonals (that always confuses the kids :-)

Hope this was the sort of answer you had in mind. unfortunately it doesn't work if your microswitches don't have levers on them, as mine don't
