Problems running Vector based and MKombat games (in)

What would be the reason why Vector and Mortal Kombat games wouldn't run correctly on an Arcade Montitor. The Graphics Card used to drive the Monitor is a S3 Virge GX2, and the PC is running Arcade OS.

The problem is when one of these games if fired up, 3 screens overlapping each other appear. I understand that maybe it's a non-interlaced/interlaced problem, which may explain the vector games, but having the same problem in MK has got me f**ked.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Of interest, I have tried V-Synch Mame with no luck.
