You have to remember... Mame games are not in themselves there own programs. They are running under mame which is a program meant to emulate an entire arcade board using your computer. 450 mhz is pretty good but if you are running under windows you are using up valuable resources. If you are, run under pure DOS instead. Trust me, I suck at DOS but all you need is a few basics. Use a good DOS based front-end like ArcadeOS. Your vid card shouldn't be too bad because mame is strictly 2d but I'd still go with something other than onboard video, cuz they suck.
