Control Panel Designs - Input/Suggestions?

Folks,

Well... After many, many months of acquiring various parts, research etc, I'm finally making some progress on this project... I've uploaded a few sample control panel layouts at the link below and I'd love to hear any feedback on them before I go ahead and start drilling!

A couple of other questions:

The plan is to use 3/4" MDF (left over from the actual cab) with 1/4" Lexan. I am using Happ Super Joys and I will probably mount them directly to the Lexan rather than the MDF - does anyone see a problem with this approach?

For the trackball plate I'd like to route out 1/16" from the Lexan so that it is flush... from the posts from a few days ago this seems to be the way to go... any difficulties in doing this?
