: 1. Whick controls interface to use? IPAC or one of the Hagstrong encoders?

** IPAC is less expensive and has a LOT of satisfied users on this board. Either unit is good but the IPAC is the best value for your money.

: 2. Is it true that ArcadeOS needs DOS MAME for use with an arcade monitor? i.e. Windows MAME does not support an arcade monitor.

** Yes, this is true. With everything there are exceptions. There may be SOME way to get an arcade monitor to work in Windows, but i've not seen it.

: 3. Is it true that the (IPAC) USB port is only supported by windows MAME and not DOS MAME?

** USB does not work in DOS. This is true.

: 4. Is it true that running IPAC through the USB port eliminates key ghosting and blocking?

** IPAC will not ghost in any of its versions. Nor will it do blocking. Like the Hagstrom unit, it uses a buffer so instead of a key being blocked, it is put in the buffer and then sent on to the PC.
