It's not really "below" the surface. The trackball is big enough so you don't even notice the amount that is lost from the lexan in my case or the formica in yours.


: : I have lexan over my panel and I just sanded the cutout for the tracball so it looks better and it is fine. I'm not sure about formica though. Good Luck!

: : : Yes, you are right. I think it will look much better. I don't know about one thing though. If I sink it then I will be cutting a hole in my formica for the ball to stick through. The formica does have a thickness to it so I am wondering what that will look like. It won't exactly be flush - the ball will kind of be sunk in a bit. Hmmm, I might have to make some practice runs to see what it actually looks like. Thanks for the input!
