Let me start this by saying that I did not know I was buying a proprietary Packard Bell item when I ordered the Fastmedia remotes...I probably wouldn't have ordered them had I known they were PB.

Anyway, I am glad I did order them. I had to download the drivers for Win98...but once installed I got all the functionality I wanted. I had to edit system.ini in the windows folder to set the remote to com1.

The remote does the following so far...left and right clicks and moves the cursor. No diagonals though. Volume control works as well as mute. Enter works. I programmed one function key to launch ArcadeOS. There are more function buttons...I will try to get them to launch other apps...no luck so far.

I have the following shortcuts on the desktop: ArcadeOS, Final Burn, Atari 2600, NES, SNES, MusicMatch Jukebox, MK4, as well as several pinball sims.

It is nice having a wireless device that doesn't require an open flat surface like a mouse. I can choose an app to launch. If I am using the jukebox I can change volume or mute from across the room.

Not to bad for under $10.
