: I have the following Questions's.....

: 1. Whick controls interface to use? IPAC or one of the Hagstrong encoders?

I suggest the I-Pac

: 2. Is it true that ArcadeOS needs DOS MAME for use with an arcade monitor? i.e. Windows MAME does not support an arcade monitor.

As far as I know you need Dos for an arcade monitor

: 3. Is it true that the (IPAC) USB port is only supported by windows MAME and not DOS MAME?

I am not certain...but I think USB only works in Windows 9x

: 4. Is it true that running IPAC through the USB port eliminates key ghosting and blocking?

This is the part that is incorrect...the I-Pac eliminates ghosting and blocking whether you use USB or standard keyboard port

: Any other suggestions or comments on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest the I-Pac...as for Windows or dos...it depends on whether you want your machine to do more than mame or not. If you just want to run mame then Dos and an arcade monitor is the way to go. If you want to run other things...like MusicMatch MP3 Jukebox....FinalBurn, MK4 ( pc version) then you want to use a PC monitor and Windows
