Monitor degausing question, will the funky colors without degausing?

I just moved my machine from one corner of the room to the other. Now I have a few funky colors on the monitor. It has been sitting still for about a week and the problem areas have faded (to normal) but are still visible. The monitor I have (a happs 19') has degausing built in but I have not noticed that it is fixing my problem on this vertically mounted monitor (It degauses after 20 min inactivity and I start it only when I play it then turn it off). Will the problem go away eventually? I probably won't shuck out the money for a degausing coil for such a small, almost un-noticable problem.
