If you are using a mouse hack, you don't need to use the optipac to interface your spinner. The mouse guts still plug into the mouse port just like normal.
: I'm using the guts of an old serial microsoft mouse for a spinner, and I'm planning on using the ipac/optipac combo for my cabinet. Since the optipac uses a serial port, how can I wire in this MS mouse to the optipac?
: As best I can tell, the serial mouse has four pins (yellow, orange, blue, and white, corresponding to pins 3, 4, 1, and 8). I'm pretty sure one is +5 vdc and one is the ground, and the other two I'm assuming are mouse data and mouse clock, whatever those mean.
: So what do I attach to the x/y axis on the optipac? Seems like mouse data carries all four x1/x2/y1/y2 outputs . . . I don't want to confuse the poor optipac.
