I used to run a Pentium 120 with 16Mb RAM and it did fine with the older games ( PacMan, DKong, etc. ). My current arcade cabinet has a PII-350 with 128Mb of RAM; I wouldn't recommend too much less if you want to run NeoGeo...especially the 128Mb of RAM. It will run all the NeoGeo games I've tried fine except for MetalSlug2 which it runs OK but not great. I had to upgrade from 64Mb ram to 128Mb in order to get games like Shock Troopers to run smoothly. -hope that helps

: OK, sorry if this is a stupid question. Anyway, I'm a Mac user, (my computer is mainly for graphic design, not gaming) but I'm looking to buy a seperate computer, (probably used) to be dedicated for emulation, and eventually be put into a MAME cabinet.

: Anyway, it'll most likely be a used PC by the looks of things, (I know a place going out of business and selling all of theirs) but I know absolutely nothing about PCs. (Well, I'm comfortable running DOS and Windows, I just don't know a thing about PC hardware and hardware requirements)

: What are the minimum requirements you think I should be looking for to run MAME and what not? Is it worth it to get a nice new fancy computer? Mostly I'll be using it for older titles, (probably a lot of Joust), but I'd also love to be able to play Neo Geo titles too. (Does the DOS MAME do a better job with Neo Geo stuff, or should I look for a Neo Geo emulator?)

: Any help here would be appreciated...
