Don't know about the Gateway picture, but someone did mention (whether it's true or not is another matter) is that all Gateway did was add an upscan converter to a regular TV (converts the 15kHz TV signal to a VGA compatible 31kHz signal). If this is the case, then I would expect that the picture quality is not THAT good since most of these devices lose something in the conversion.

As for the D9200, Windows is okay in 600x480 and although the dotpitch causes text to be a little blurry, the physical size of the screen kinda helps out on that front. As for games, see my post below... Quake3 actually ROCKS even at this resolution (the poor dotpitch causes the jaggies you would expect to see actually to be quite blurry - almost like getting top-notch anti-aliasing for no loss in performance!!)

All in all, would I do much word processing or spreadsheet work using this? Well, no... but for PC games and other entertainment use... jukebox, MP3 stuff etc... it's really a no-brainer...

: Hey guys,
: for those of you who have the WG 9200 monitor i have a question for ya, how does windows screens and text look as opposed to a TV w/ s.video. on the TV, games look fine but windows and text are virtually unreadable. My project is a multi-use project but I need the larger size screen. I have looked into the Gateway Destination monitors 27" and 36". The pic quality is not quite up to snuff with a normal monitor but it blows away a normal TV. Is the WG 9200 comparable? just w/out a case? Thanks in advance for any feedback
