Sounds like a cool idea... I think you would just have to try it. If you’re a cable guy... just splice 50 feet of wire to an old keyboard and see if that works, then I would try doing the same with the monitor. I would have to agree that you might need to amplify your signals.
Oh and one more thing... don't forget sound :)
I'm sure I'm not much help... but the sound thing is a good idea :)
