Recommended MAME variant/config settings for U3100 monitor under DOS?

I currently have a U3100 monitor installed in my cabinet being driven by a Matrox G400 video card under DOS.

I'm curious what MAME variant other U3100 users are using, and what settings they have. I tried VSyncMame (which says it supports the G400) but "out of the box", it did not scale games to utilize the U3100 very well -- low-resolution games were centered in a very-small "window" in the middle of the screen. Since I had guests coming over for a New Year's Eve party (having gotten the cabinet playable only a hour or so before they arrived!) I didn't have much time to play with configuring VSyncMame...

So I switched to AdvanceMAME and quickly ran throught he "mv" utility (after setting up the [video] block in mame.cfg for the U3100 from the included .TXT files). This helped considerably, and now at most games were utilizing more of the U3100's screen.

Now that the party's over (where my MAME cabinets were a huge hit and were in-use non-stop the whole evening!), I'd like to really tweak this config to really "sing" if possible. Since the U3100 is a fairly popular monitor, I'm hoping others can provide insight on how to make the most of it.

Thanks for any help!

P.S. Pictures/construction details of my cabinets coming soon!
