The IPAC was the easy way for me to go. I've got 2 8 way joysticks, 6 buttons per player, P1/2 Start and coin slots hooked to an IPAC.

The latest one allows keyboard remapping - even on the fly. This lets me use Genecyst and a few DOS games that didn't like the MAME setup.

The shifted keys in the IPAC are great. You can eliminate a lot of keys using it. P, Enter, ~, Coin 1, and TAB are already setup as shift keys.

I used a PS/2 trackball and a Spinner hacked from a PS/2 mouse. They share the same PS/2 plug with a Y Mouse connector.

: Hi...

: Just starting out, think I am going to go with an encoder to not have to deal with the ghosting and such. Was wanting to get some feedback on the IPAC. Seems like a good enough price. What do people think of it? Enough inputs?

: I've also thought about putting a spinner and trackball in it, and that looks like that's another $39.

: Any help?

: Thanks!
