: : 2) That is up to you but when I build my cabinet I plan on using my L4 Gameport card from PDPI and a keyboard hack(or encoder if I have the money)for the other buttons. With the add-on bracket(which I have)I can run 4 joysticks at the same time. Each of my cheap analog joysticks has 6 buttons and it sees everything just fine all of the time.

: : 3) Nope. I plan on 4 players and probably 6 buttons per player. Coin and start and pause buttons for each player and then Esc,Tab,Enter,F2,F3 and any others needed.

: : The L4 only has windows drivers currently.

:
: Even thought the L4 gameport can have four sticks attached at a time, I thought it could only use any two at the same time. Am I wrong? If this gamecard can indeed use all four at the same time then my problem is solved!!!

: I could also use the L4 to run two sticks with (6) buttons each and attach the remaining two sticks with (4) buttons each to a keyboard hack. Would this allow me to have a working four player setup? (it would certainly reduce the ghosting problem)

: Any input appreciated.

You will have to order the add-on bracket also to get the other 2 connections. There is two joystick connections on the card and then two more on the add-on bracket. It sees all 4 joysticks at the same time. I have tried it with my 4 - PC Arcade Pro joysticks(a stick pad with 6 buttons) all connected at the same time. The L4 is able to see every single joystick movement and button press at the same time. Gauntlet is awesome with four players. It works great with Mame32. I would really recommend reading the review they did of the L4 on the Control Center. It received 5 joysticks.
