Yeah, I've tried that but...
I'm not sure, but I think ArcadeOS makes changes to mame.cfg as it runs each game. So any manual changes to mame.cfg are overwritten.
I think the problem is only related to a couple of items: cheat and stereo. In the meantime I've just changed the mame.dat file so that it's not possible for ArcadeOS to send stereo = no and cheat = yes to mame.cfg. It's a bit of duct tape solution but oh well!
