I would have to agree, the archived knowledge is too great to lose. Is there any way to export them into a text format so that we the users could download an archive and do a simple text search to help find what we need?

: UBBS looks very good. However, there's one important feature it appears to lack. There's no mechanism for taking old messages and archiving them as "back issues" so to speak. This would mean once the messages were purged, they'd be gone forever.

: Comments/thoughts? Right now there have been about 1000 hits on the message board archives page. Is this something people are willing to live without? How valuable are the archives? Anyone have an alternative suggestion?
