This is a hard question but this is how I am planning my driving controls:

Pot pedals. I will then mount a micro switch at the bottom of the pedal. I can then have both (connect the pots to the game port and the micro swithes as button 7 and 8 on my I-PAC).

Optical 360% wheel (I can't have both so I really have to choose optical 360% or pot 270%). I choose optical 360% because it is possible to drive 270% games like Outrun with it but it is almost inpossible to drive a 360% game like Super Sprint with a 270% wheel.

I will use a up-down shifter that return to neutral position because it is easy to map against the MAME controls (just like two buttons, one up and one down) and it would be the most generic way to control shifting in all driving games supported by MAME.

Thats my thought on this matter so far. But I haven't started to build my driving panel + pedals yet. I will probably use the following SUZO parts:

Up-Down Shifter (return to neutral): 22-2107-4
Steering Wheel (optical 360%): 22-2105-2
Modular Pedal (pot): 22-2109-4
or Modular Pedal (switch): 22-2109-5
or Dual Pedal Assembly (switch/pot): 22-2109-3

: Hello all.
: Should I go with pot pedals, or switch?
: The one I thought I'd use is:

: Also the steering wheel I thought I'd use is:

: Are these good choices?
: I have no clue what is the best all around choice for a stick shift. What have you folks found that is good?
: Should I get just a high/low or should I get a four way?
: If I go with a high/low, what type?
: TOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

: Sorry, I want to get going and realized how far behind I am.
: Thanks to everyone,
