Thanks.

In regard to your first paragraph,

: "You still will never get it perfect... for one... all cabinets are different,I've seen millipede cabinets that were converted from centipede and vise versa, I've seen cabinets repaired with different track balls then their original."

Okay, I understand that "perfect" is not possible, in that respect, but I'm not worried about the conversion and trackball differences of the various games. I'm only interested in the responsiveness of the original Atari Millipede trackball.(Which of course would vary from machine to machine anyway). I need to get into that "neighborhood".

: "Secondly, I find trackballs have two measurements, small and big. If you move the trackball slowly to one side 360 degrees and measure how far it moves, it will almost always be different then if you fling it quickly 360 degrees."

I'm aware of that. From what I know, most mice are 100 dpi and 400 dpi respectively?

: "And lastly, even if you did get accurate measurements for both types of trackball movement a mouse hack or encoder would more than likely not have the same ratio."

***That is why I trying to find out how flexible MAME is as far as tweaking is concerned.

No one mentioned this to me, but am I correct in assuming that I don't need the Millipede pin-outs, since I cannot in use the PCBs anyway?

Thanks
